Oshiohmole’s Ward Says His Fate Now In The Hands Of NWC Members

The fate of Adams Oshiohmole now lies with the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC), according to the Ward 10 Secretary of Estako West, Edo State, Emuakemeh Sule, and a Chieftain of the party in the ward, Chief Lucky James.

The duo stated this in an interview with THE WHISTLER while speaking on the options available for Oshiohmole, after the suspension placed on him by the party in his ward was lifted last Saturday.

But the ward chairman, Stephen Oshawo, shortly after the announcement of lifting the suspension, said Oshiohmole remained suspended.

Recall that 17 out of 27 members of the ward announced the lifting of the suspension during a press conference at the national secretariat of the party in Abuja.

Emuakemeh Sule, who spoke unbehalf of the ward, had said that they reviewed the circumstances leading to the suspension of Oshiohmole and found no merit in the allegations or processes employed.

But responding to Oshawo’s claim, Emuakemeh Sule maintained that Oshiohmole remained the authentic National Chairman of the party.

He claimed that the said Oshawo had long been suspended by the party in the ward since October 2019,  wondering why “he is deceiving people.”

The ward secretary said “Oshiohmole is the authentic National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC). We just concluded the governorship primary election in the ward. And the so-called ward chairman was not there. He wasn’t on ground to participate in the election. Why is he now deceiving people. If he was the authentic ward chairman he would have come to the party’s primary. We suspended him since October 28, 2019.”

On whether Oshiohmole can now proceed to the Supreme Court, the ward secretary said “I can’t tell you now. He will consult the party and the party leadership. They know what to do.”

On his part, former Chairman of Estako West Local Government, foremost leader of the party in the ward, Lucky James, said
“Our mission here is like Democracy in action. There have been pronouncements from the courts, individuals and others that Comrade Adams Oshiohmole, who happens to come from our ward, has been suspended and so the executive, in strict obedience to the court, pull that suspension and looked at it and found that, without any much argument, the next thing is to obey the court order and lift the suspension. Exactly what we have done. And they went through the process by passing it over to the LGA executive, who have also affirmed their own resolution of lifting the suspension, and this has also been transmitted to the state level. “

The former commissioner for local government in the state also said “We got a beautiful reply from the NWC of the party. We want to sustain the party, we want to keep democracy alive in this country, and that they will expeditiously look at the position of the state, local government and the ward and act swiftly. We await their own resolution or acceptance or otherwise of our resolution.”
