A former Edo state commissioner of transport, Orobosa Omo-Ojo, has made some incriminating allegations about the governor Adams Oshiomhole-led administration in the state.

Omo-Ojo who recently launched a book titled, ‘Breach of Trust’, opened up on the governor’s dirty secretes after he alleged that Oshiomhole spent a whooping N14 billion to design a website for the Edo Open Portal project.

He said Oshiomhole’s open portal project was part of a cover-up used to deceive the people of Edo state and calm the tension of growing criticism after the governor could not justify how the $225 million World Bank loan he took was spent.

He further alleged that Oshiomhole spent N500 million in his pursuance of the post of vice president during the 2015 presidential elections.

The governor’s ex-aide also revealed in the ‘Breach of Trust’ that the governor issued and waved Certificate of Occupancy worth N1.08 billion to Alhaji Aliko Dangote for the establishment of a fertilizer plant in Edo state.

Omo-Ojo has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), to quickly investigate the ‘Edo Open Portal project’ as well as the governor’s lavish provision of biometrics, oracle, and internet for ministries, department and agencies (MDAs) in the state.

The ex-commissioner revealed that Oshiomhole sacked him in January this year after he refused to revealed details of his meetings with some perceived enemies of the Governor.

He said, “Working with Oshiomhole is like watching a circus show. There is never a boring moment. Either he amuses you with sheer energy to talk unending or you are amazed at his self-delusion as he speaks on every subject like an authority. The only way to reduce priceless time wasting during meetings is to allow a monologue. This practice led to poor project execution.

“The whole bullshit about open portal was arrant deception, designed as a cover –up for the growing criticism of lack of transparency in government operation and a means to justify the $225,000,000,00 World Bank loan, which is about N50 billion.

“The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) must investigate the ‘Open Portal’ contract for the benefit of Edo people. It is outrageous that a mere website design will gulp over N14 billion in a state where hundreds of roads are begging for government attention”.

Responding to the allegations, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Adams Oshiomhole, Peter Okhiria, simply said “we have a copy of the book, we will react to the allegations appropriately.”
