Osinbajo Returns From Davos

Stops In Lagos To Commiserate With The Tinubus

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has returned to the country after a weeklong trip to Davos, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Laolu Akande, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday.

Akande said the VP, who is expected in Abuja later this evening, stopped by in Lagos to commiserate with the Tinubus, on the death of Deji Tinubu, who died on Thursday.

Tinubu, special adviser to Lagos state governor Akinwunmi Ambode, slumped and died while participating in a football match in the Epe area of Lagos State.

He is the brother of Wale Tinubu, chief executive officer of Oando.

Recall that Osinbajo had on Monday led a delegation to Davos, Switzerland for the 48th World Economic Forum Annual Meeting.

The Nigerian delegation include the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Okey Enelamah, and the Special Adviser on Economic Matters to the President, Dr. Adeyemi Dipeolu

The theme of this year’s WEF is “Creating a Shared Future in a Fractured World”, with emphasis on finding ways to reaffirm international cooperation on shared interests on matters such as the global economy, international security and the environment.

In Davos, Osinbajo held a number of bilateral meetings with representatives of other countries, international business and development partners.
