Osinbajo Visits Bayelsa, To Meet Traditional Leaders

Acting President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo will today (Friday) travel to Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital as part of his engagement with the Niger Delta people, the Presidency has announced.

This was contained in a tweet by the official Twitter handle on the Presidency, which added that the Vice President will take part in a town hall meeting with traditional and community leaders in the state.

Recall that Osinbajo, had on January 16, 2017, kicked off the Niger Delta engagement with a visit to Gbaramatu Kingdom, Delta State, where he commissioned the Nigeria Maritime University located in the community.

As part of his remarks last month, the Vice President assured the people that the Federal Government will use the crude oil proceeds from the oil rich Niger Delta region to improve the lives and living conditions of the people.

“A place like this should not be just like this, it should be better, it should look like Dubai or anywhere in the developed countries in the world,” the Acting President said.
