Osun Police Officers Dismissed For Assaulting Woman In Viral Video

The two Police officers, Inspector Ikuesan Taiwo with AP NO 251724 and PC Abass Ibrahim with Force No. 509634 of Iwo Division, who assaulted a woman at the Odo Ori Market, Iwo, Osun State have been dismissed.

The video of the assault had gone viral prompting a police enquiry.

The officers, who were earlier arrested on April 18th, on the directive of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu over the incident, were tried and found guilty and subsequently, dismissed from the Force.

The news of the dismissal was contained in a picture post on the Facebook page of the Force, on Friday. 

According to the post, the dismissed officers would be arraigned in court for prosecution.

Recall that the duo, after their arrest was detained and made to face orderly room trial.

IGP Adamu had condemned the “unwarranted, unnecessary and unjustifiable assault on this innocent citizen.”

    Only dismissal??? People that should be flogged publicly and then dismissed…and of they have daughters or sisters of the victims age, those ones should be flogged as well….a bunch of animals in uniform
