Osun Rerun: Voters Defy Heavy Downpour To Decide Aregbesola’s Successor Today

In spite of a heavy downpour, voters at Polling Unit 17, Ward 5, Adewale Street, Alekuwodo, Osogbo, have come out en masse to decide who emerges winner of the Osun state gubernatorial election.

The election process started at 8am on Thursday but at 9:12am, there was heavy downpour which halted the process.

But the voters did not quit the queue, patiently waiting to vote either Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party or Gboyega Oyetola, of the All Progressives Congress into office.

By the time the rain subsided, all the voters in the queue were already drenched.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the voting continued at 9:30am when INEC staff, security, media men and others had returned to their posts.
