Otti Hails Armed Forces For Sacrifice, Commitment To National Security

The Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, has praised the Nigerian Armed Forces for their role in keeping the country united and protecting its territorial integrity.

Speaking at the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day in Umuahia , Dr. Otti stated that the day marked the 60th anniversary of the first military coup in Nigeria, which had a profound impact on the country’s history.

“January 15 holds a special significance in the annals of our history. It was on this day 60 years ago that the first military coup took place, a long sad night for the country that left blood, tears, and misery in its wake,” Otti said.
