Oyedepo Hits FG Again: ‘They’re Not Looking For Hate Acts, They’re After Hate Speech’

For the umpteenth time, Bishop David Oyedepo of the Living Faith Church Worldwide has slammed the present administration for alleged non-performance.

Oyedepo, on Friday, said rather than focus on delivering good governance, the present administration was more concerned with ways to stop criticism from citizens.

For the second time since the 2019 Shiloh exercise began, the cleric has criticised the Prohibition of Hate Speech Bill  that was recently proposed to the Nigerian Senate.

During the fourth encounter night of Shiloh on Friday, Oyedepo asked his congregation if the present administration was doing well and whole congregation screamed “Noo!!!”

The cleric was delivering a sermon on “‘Unveiling the Power of the Altar of Sacrifice” when he made the comments.

Meanwhile, during the second encounter night of the 2019 Shiloh, Oyedepo had described the hate speech bill as “one of the most crazy ideas”.

He had said, “They said hate speech. One of the most crazy ideas. So, if you are wrong they shouldn’t tell you you’re wrong?” he queried.

“Who are you?  That you hang somebody? Road is bad and you can’t say road is bad because it is hate speech?

Oyedepo further asked, “Are we going forward or backward as a nation? Are the roads better now than before?”

The Shiloh 2019 programme has been tagged ‘Breaking Limits’ and it marks the 21st annual convocation of Living Faith Church.
