Oyo: APC Leaders In Ogbomoso Fight Over Birthday Largesse From Ex-Gov Candidate

The police in Oyo State have begun an investigation into the fight between the chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Ogbomoso South Local Government Area of Oyo State, Kamarudeen Abisoye and the woman leader of the party in the local government, Felicia Ogunleke.

The two were said to have engaged each other violently over money allegedly released for the 50th birthday celebration of the party’s governorship candidate in the last general election, Adebayo Adelabu.

There were claims in some quarters that the chairman stabbed Ogunleke, but some alleged that the woman leader went to Abisoye’s house and destroyed some properties after which she stabbed herself to implicate the chairman.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr Olugbenga Fadeyi, when contacted by our correspondent said the police had begun investigations into the case.

The fight which was said to have been caused by sharing of birthday largesse of the APC governorship candidate in 2019, Mr Adelabu, reportedly happened on Sunday night which was the eve of Adelabu’s birthday. Adelabu clocked 50 on Monday.

Abisoye, when contacted on the telephone by our correspondent did not pick the calls.

The PPRO said, “On 27/09/2020 at 2200 hrs, information  from the Divisional Police Officer, Arowomole reveals that one Felicia Ogunleke ‘f’ , APC women leader, Ogbomoso South LGA alongside two others arrived  the house of one Kamarudeen Abisoye, APC Chairman Ogbomoso South LGA for preparation for birthday of party leader on 28/09/2020.

” Fight ensued and the APC chairman, Abisoye, alleged his house windows were smashed, two vehicles vandalised, while woman leader sustained injury and was rushed to hospital for treatment.

“Investigation had commenced by DO Arowomole to ascertain the immediate and remote cause of the fight.”
