Oyo Gov’t Confirms Arrival Of Peace Busari From Lebanon

The Oyo State Government has confirmed the arrival of Peace Busari, who at one time, was put up for sale by a Lebanese, on social media.

Special Assistant to Governor Makinde on Diaspora, Bolanle Sarumi Aliyu, disclosed this on Saturday, through Facebook.

NIDCOM had earlier tweeted that Busari, Temitope Arowolo, were among 29 passengers returning to the country.

Aliyu noted that before now, the state government had kept in touch with Busari to ensure that she returned home safely.

“Recall Oyo state government had been in touch with her family over her possible return to Nigeria since she was advertised for sale in Lebanon,” the post read.

She also lauded the relevant authorities who facilitated her return, as well as others.

“Peace Busari arrives Nigeria from Lebanon with 28 other Trafficked Victims,thanks to Oyo State Government, NIDCOM, Lebanese Government, Lebanese Community and the Nigerian Embassy in Lebanon for bringing them back home safely,” she added.

According to the Facebook post, the evacuees arrived at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja.

The Lebanese who perpetuated the act had since been apprehended by authorities in his country.
