Palmer Becomes Third Teenage Player To Score Champions League Goal For Man City

Manchester City teenager Cole Palmer on Tuesday became the third teenager to score for the club in the UEFA Champions League.

Pep Guardiola’s men demolished Club Brugge in Belgium 5:1 in the Group A encounter of the tournament.

Joao Cancelo and Riyad Mahrez both scored in the 30th and 43rd minute respectively to give the visitors a clear lead.

Kyle Walker found himself on the scoresheet scoring in the 53rd minute with a composed finish from D. Bruyne’s assist.

Palmer, 19, found the back of the net in the 67th minute, placing City four goals ahead of the home team.

The two players that had scored for City as teenagers were Phil Foden and Kelechi Iheanacho.

Aged 19 years and 166 days, he has become the 10th youngest Englishman to score in the competition.

Mahrez closed the score sheet with an 84th minute strike three minutes after Brugge’s Vanaken scored a consolation goal.
