PDP Declares Enugu East Senatorial Primary Inconclusive
The Enugu East senatorial primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been declared inconclusive by the opposition party’s returning officer, Abdulrahman Yunusa.
Yunusa declared the primary poll inconclusive over shortage of ballot papers, as delegates from Enugu East, North, South, Isiuzo and Nkanu East were able to vote while those from Nkanu West LGA weren’t able to cast their votes due to the shortage.
“After the remaining one council polls tomorrow, I shall officially declare the winner of the primary for Enugu East Senatorial Zone and return the winner as the candidate of the PDP ahead of 2019 General Elections,’’ said the returning officer.
Aspirants for the Enugu East senatorial seat are incumbent Senator, Gil Nnaji, former governor Chimaroke Nnamani, a lecturer at the Enugu State University of Science and Technology, Professor Gab Agu, Mr Lawrence Eze, Mr David Nkwo and Mr Joshua Mba.
