PHOTO: Driver Escapes Death As Bus Plunges Into Ditch On Abuja Road

A driver on Friday escaped death at the Kubwa express road in Abuja, as the bus he was driving veered off the road and plunged into a ditch.

The accident, according to an eye witness, occurred when the driver of the 18-seater Toyota bus suddenly lost control after a tyre blowout occurred while he was on high speed.

The driver, who escaped unhurt said, “There was a tyre burst and in the process of controlling the car on the expressway, I lost control and the car fell into the gutter by the roadside and somersaulted.”

The development led to a gridlock as officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps were not on ground to control traffic.

Efforts to reach the FRSC proved abortive as the emergency numbers were not connecting as of the time of this report.
