The tenure of Mr Ibrahim Idris as Inspector-General of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) came to end on Tuesday when he led his successor, Mr Abubakar Adamu Mohammed, to President Muhmmadu Buhari in Aso Rock.
Mr Idris reportedly clocked the statutory 35 years of retirement on January 3rd. He also clocked the constitutional retirement age of 60 years in the Force today, January 15.
Idris, who hails from Niger state, had taken over as IGP from Mr Solomon Arase on June 21, 2016.
His exit ushers in Mohammed who takes over in acting capacity as the new head of the Police Force.
Mohammed, who until now was as an Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG), hails from Nasarawa state.
He served previously as the AIG in charge of Zone 5 in Abuja.
