PHOTOS: EFCC Raids Lagos Night Club, Arrests ‘Yahoo Boys’

At least 12 suspected internet fraudsters, popularly known as ‘Yahoo Boys’, have been arrested in Lagos State after operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) raided a nightclub on Friday.

The Lagos division of the EFCC said in a release today that the suspected fraudsters were arrested at the popular Club 57 in the Ikoyi area of the state.

Club 57 is a popular celebrity hangout located at number 57 Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos State.

The anti-corruption agency said of the raid: “EFCC operatives stormed the popular Club 57 on Awolowo Way, where the suspected “yahoo yahoo boys” were rounded up, following intelligence report.

“While some of the suspects abandoned their exotic cars to avoid arrest, some others put up resistance, thereby turning the environment into a war-like zone of sorts.

“However, a total 10 cars were recovered from the suspects during the raid that lasted about three hours.

“The suspects will soon be charged to court when investigations are concluded”.
