PHOTOS: Kyari Excited At Level Of Progress On 2nd Niger Bridge
The Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mele Kyari, is optimistic that the N108bn Second Niger Bridge will not exceed the 2023 deadline set by the Federal Government for completion of the project.
Kyari expressed his delight at the pace of work on the ongoing project in a tweet on Saturday.

He said, “Crossing the Niger bridge in transit to Oraifite Anambra state for official engagement. Gladdening to see the 2nd Niger bridge construction making progress and approaching completion. Thank you Mr President for the will and commitment to deliver on all promises.”
The bridge located in the South East has been tipped to be a game changer for the economy of the region.
The 1.6km long bridge was initially approved by the former president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan administration, who lost his bid to secure a second term in 2015.
The bridge is being constructed by Julius Berger under a private public partnership and has other infrastructure, including a 10.3 km highway and a toll station.

President Muhammadu Buhari had in 2020 announced that the bridge would be completed by 2023, a shift by a year from the original arrangement.
The project is being undertaken on behalf of the Federal Government by the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing in partnership with the Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority.
