Physically Challenged Persons From Niger Delta Storm National Assembly To Protest Negligence

The National Assembly security could not prevent a crowd of physically challenged Persons (PCPs) from entering the premises to air their grievances against the legislators.

Amos Etim, who spoke on behalf of the PCPs, said they came to Abuja from various states in the Niger Delta “to demand their rights from their representatives.”

Etim said they are protesting against the nonchalant attitude of their representatives in the Senate and the House of Representatives towards their welfare.

The invasion of NASS by the PCPs had disrupted the activities at the parliament as they ran around the complex chanting, ‘We No Go Gree, You Must Kill Us, Stop Neglecting Us” despite resistance by security operatives at the gate.

The NASS security quickly removed the official vehicles of the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, parked at the entrance of the Senate new wing to a safer place.

Some members of the Senate and House of Representatives later came out to address them.
