Following the appointment of Paul Le Guen as Super Eagles’ technical director, president of the Nigeria Football Federation Amaju Pinnick has assured that the NFF has made all necessary arrangements to pay the new coaches.

Speaking with the media in Abuja on Monday, the NFF boss stated that the federation has a sponsor that will not only pay the wages of Le Guen but also that of other coaches handling our Nigeria national teams.

“The process has been tough and we want to avoid some of the perceived mistakes of the past. We got a partner who will write off the wages of all the coaches, not just whoever is selected (new Super Eagles coach),” Pinnick stated.

“We sent a request for about five coaches and this was granted by the company and at the appropriate time they will make it public through their own medium.

“We wanted to get that done after we crashed out of the last World Cup. Our new partners are expected to also offset all the debts we owe our coaches. We will do that as soon as they show signs of meeting their obligations. The target is to qualify for the World Cup and our partners are in tune with us.”

Though Pinnick did not reveal the name of the said Corporate partner, he revealed that the partner will also provide accommodation for Le Guen, as he is optimistic the Super Eagles will be in Russia 2018.

Pinnick also stressed that the other teams in Nigeria’s World Cup qualifying group are scared of the Eagles, explaining that he would rather play Algeria than Gabon who are desperate to go to their first World Cup.

“We are desirous of going to the World Cup and we shall give that desire our best shot. We have worked hard, we have talked with the players and we hope that the coming of a new coach will bring out the best in the players,” Pinnick added.
