Plateau: 12 People Killed In 72 Hours

Several locals have been reported dead following an attack on Te’egbe community in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.

This is the second attack in the last 72 hours in Bassa LGA. The spokesperson for the Miango Youth Development Association, Nuhu Bitrus, confirmed the incident on Friday.

The latest attack reportedly occurred in the early hours of Friday as gunmen razed several houses while injuring three.

Bitrus disclosed that no fewer than 10 people were killed and their remains deposited to an undisclosed mortuary.

“Right now, we have just counted the bodies of ten persons who were shot dead by the attackers. They are being taken to the mortuary. We also discovered three persons who sustained gunshot injuries,” Bitrus told Punch Newspaper.

At the moment, Bitrus said the many residents are still missing following the attack on the community.

On November 23, gunmen attacked Ancha community, also in Bassa LGA and killed two locals.

The victims were identified as Daniel James, 32, and Zakwe Deba, 35.

The gunmen were said to have laid ambush on the road leading to Ancha community.
