Police Gives Fani-Kayode New Date To Honour Summons Over Criminal Allegations

The Nigeria Police Force has given former Aviation Minister, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode, September 4, 2018, to honour its invitation.

The Force in a letter dated August 23, 2018 and signed by CP Habu Sani of the Inspector-General of Police Monitoring Unit, said the new date was given in consideration to the request made by Mr Fani-Kayode who had asked for an extension of time for him to appear for questioning.

The police had in a letter dated August 20, invited the former minister and chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for questioning over alleged acts of “conspiracy, criminal and inciting publication.”

But responding, Fani-Kayode, through his lawyer, Kayode Ajulo, asked for detailed information on his alleged offence, adding that he could only honour the invitation by September 4 or 5.

The letter read, “I refer to your letter No KACCL/OR/372/18 dated 27th August, 2018 wherein you requested for rescheduling of appointment in respect of the above subject.

“Graciously the interview is now rescheduled for Tuesday the 4th day of September, 2018 by 1200hrs.

“You are however to note that, the invitation is in respect of criminal complaints lodged by Apex Solicitors (Legal Practitioners and Consultants) and your cooperation in this regard is expected, please.”
