Police Grab 30-Year-Old Who Led 40 Bandits To Invade Katsina Community, Kidnap 14 Women

A 30-year old leader of a bandit group and a notorious suspected kidnapper, Amadu Yusuf, has been arrested by the Katsina State Police Command at Tudu Village in Dutsinma Area Council of the state.

The spokesman of the police command, Gambo Isah, disclosed this in a statement.

Isah said the District Police Officer of Dutsinma, CSP Muhammad Makama led “Operation Puff Adder” to Kwantawama village, Dutsinma LGA of Katsina state.

According to him, the operation was based on a report that bandits numbering about 40, on motorcycles, armed with AK 47 rifles, attacked the village, kidnapped fourteen (14) women including children and rustled a large number of domestic animals.

The police spokesman said the team went after the hoodlums into the fringes of Rugu forest and engaged them in a gun battle.

Furthermore, he revealed that all the kidnapped fourteen women, thirty (30) cows, sixty (60) sheep were rescued by the team as it succeeded in dislodging the bandits and arrested one of the bandits leader identified as Amadu Yusuf.

The police spokesman further added that, investigation was ongoing into the incident.
