Police Investigate Killing At Benue State University
The Benue State Police Command is currently investigating the killing of two persons killed in a cult clash at the Gyado Villa Area of the state capital, Makurdi on Thursday.
Spokesperson of the command, Catherine Anene confirmed this in an exclusive interview with THE WHISTLER on Friday.
Photos had surfaced on social media Thursday evening showing the gruesome murder of the two men. The sad incidence occurred in broad day light and the assailants still at large.
Anene said: “Yes there was a case yesterday. Yes, it truly happened.”
When asked whether the men were students of the Benue State University (BSU) the police spokesperson said she was yet to confirm the identities of the deceased, adding that the police has just begun investigations.
Gyado villa is a residential area opposite the second gate of BSU. It is mostly populated by students of the university.
The incident comes a couple of days after suspected cultists had killed a fresh graduate of the BSU at same Gyado villa. It was gathered that the deceased, Adzua Defence met his death on January 28 while already planning to return to Lagos where he resides after spending his Christmas holiday with family and friends.
