Police Recover Four Stolen Motorcycles, Arrest Robbery Suspect In Anambra

Operatives of the Anambra State Police Command, attached to Nnobi Division under Ogidi Area Command, have arrested a notorious motorcycle robbery suspect and two receivers of stolen bikes in Iruowelle Village, Awka-Etiti.

The operation, carried out in collaboration with the Awka-Etiti Vigilante Group in the early hours of October 13 led to the recovery of four Kymco 125 motorcycles reasonably suspected to have been stolen.

The arrest followed a report made on October 11, by a victim who narrated that two young men had overtaken him and his wife around Awka-Etiti town and forcefully snatched their black Kata Pen motorcycle.

The police said its operatives subsequently traced and arrested the suspects after a diligent probe, leading to the recovery of the stolen motorcycles.

The Commissioner of Police, Ikioye Orutugu, commended the operatives and the Awka-Etiti Vigilante Group for their swift action and synergy, describing it as an example of effective community policing.

He urged residents to continue to support security agencies by providing timely and credible information that can help the police combat crime and other social vices in the state.
