He said a lot of people were now forced to become internet-friendly to keep in touch with trending issues around the world in view of the lockdown caused by the pandemic.

Obeten, who spoke to THE WHISTLER, said that the Covid-19 era was an opportunity for prosperity but added that students and the youths must get familiar with how to use different types of technology to drive their potentials or skills.

“They should start learning a skill and not just learning , but look for how to drive that skill on a digital platform; only then will they be relevant during and after this covid-19 pandemic.

“They should learn a skill that people need; so even when they resume school or work, they still know that you can use their skill to make some money,” he said.

He also said that anyone using the internet just to chat or watch videos doesn’t understand the times.

“This is a pandemic that has come to affect the world, so things would not be the same again.

“Companies now realize that they can use technology, little to get much; people are working from home,” he said.

He said young people can get themselves adequately trained by exploring websites and social media platforms to see what training is available right now.

“If whatever students or youths are doing now is not technologically inclined or driven, they may be considered as one of the last people to get employed or be self sufficient,” he said.

Furthermore, he said that since it is people that patronizes goods and services, it was vital for a person to build relationships.

He said it was the relationships that people are building that determines what becomes of them.

“Nobody would reject free things; and because you have rendered that service for free, they would mark you and they will most likely call on you when the lockdown is over.

“You could send relief to someone in need, render service for free, or maybe a recharge card and that would go a long way,” he said.
