Tottenham Hotspurs forward Son Heung-Min is out for the season after a collision with Aston Villas central defender Ezri Konsa that left him stunned on the ground. The forward also scored two goals in the thrilling 3-2 win over Villa
The injury poses a major setback for the club as this adds to the number of injured players as Harry kane is already out for the majority of the season.
A club statement issued on Tuesday read, ” Son Heung-min is to undergo surgery this week after sustaining a fracture on his right arm. ” The South Korean suffered the injury during our win against Aston Villa on sunday.
“Following the surgery, our Medical staff shall be reviewing management options for Sons rehabilitation with the player expected to be sidelined for a number of weeks,” the statement added.
Jose Mourinho said on Son’s injury: ” I’m not going to count on him again this season . If he plays two or three games then its because he (His press officer) is very optimistic, but I’m not counting on him”.
This leaves the coach and the club with the 27 year old Brazilian
midfielder Lucas Moura and the inexperienced 18 year old Irish forward Erik
Lamela and Stephen Bergwijn to play in the attack.
