Recall the CCT had yesterday unanimously upheld the “no-case” submission earlier filed by Saraki.
But Mr. Okoi Obono-Obla, Special Assistant to the President on Prosecution, according to Punch, condemned the CCT for dismissing “overwhelming evidences” tendered by the Federal Government against the Senate President.
Saraki’s acquittal came as the two-man panel headed by Chairman of the CCT; Danladi Umar closed government’s 48 exhibits case against the Senate President.
Meanwhile a member of the House of Representatives, Mr Peter Akpatason, has said Saraki’s trial at the CCT clearly indicates that no one is above the law.

Akpatason said: “If the Senate President can be tried, others, apart from president and governors who enjoy immunity, should be tried too.
“They should use the opportunity to reconsider forms submitted by members of the executive.
“I will believe that the senate president being tried was in a way like the whole National Assembly was being tried.
“However the point has been proven that nobody is above the law. Today, it is the turn of Bukola Saraki; tomorrow, it will be the turn of another person.
“What is important is that there should be fairness and justice at the end,’’ he said.
