Presidency `Not Aware` Of Buhari’s Return Today

The Presidency has refuted reports that President Muhammadu Buhari will be back in the country today, Saturday.

Speculations had emerged, Friday, that President Buhari was set to return this weekend from his medical vacation in London.

The Presidency said Buhuri, who departed the country May 7 to the United Kingdom for medical consultations, will only return to the country when his physicians deem due.

Mallam Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, made this known to journalists on Saturday.

“I’m not aware of the reports. I know nothing about them,” said the presidential aide.

THE WHISTLER recalls that Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, had earlier told Nigerians that there was no cause for alarm on Buhari`s health.

“The length of the President’s stay in London will be determined by the doctors. Government will continue to function normally under the leadership of the Vice President,” said Adesina.

Aisha`s media aide, Bisi Olumide-Ajayi, had said the First Lady expressed gratitude to millions of Nigerians for their prayers over husband’s quick recovery.

“Her Excellency will spend some time with her Husband, President Muhammadu Buhari who is on a medical vacation,” wrote Olumide-Ajayi in a Facebook post.
