Presidency Reacts To Cancellation Of Osinbajo’s Trip

An online news medium, Sahara Reporters, had reported that Osinbajo’s trip was called off in order to ensure that Saraki, who is the third in hierarchy in the country, did not emerge acting President in the absence of Buhari and Osinbajo.

A statement signed by the spokesman to Osinbajo, Laolu Akande, which refuted such claims said that “No such thing happened because there was no such final decision to travel.

“Nigerians know wherever Mr. President is, at home or abroad he acts fully in his office except if on break, [is] indisposed or incapacitated,” Mr. Akande stressed. “So the question of his traveling creating a vacuum does not even exist at all.”

The statement noted that a Nigeria’s delegation led by Industry & Trade Minister, Dr. Okey Enelamah, will attend the India-Africa Conference which starts tomorrow in New Delhi.
