Presidency Writes Senate Seeking Confirmation of Nominees

The Senate would during plenary on Wednesday consider requests from President Muhammadu Buhari for the confirmation of appointees into various positions.

The requests conveyed in letters dated 12 January and 13 February sought the confirmation of Aghughu Arhotomhenla Adolphus, Larry Obinna Collins Chukwu and Engr. Wakil Bukar, as Auditor-General of the Federation, Commissioner representing South-East, at the Nigerian Law Reform Commission; and Commissioner representing Bauchi, Borno and Yobe States, at the federal civil service commission respectively.

While reading the letters during plenary, President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan disclosed that the requests were made pursuant to 86(1) and 154(1) of the 1999 constitution as amended; and section 2(2) of the Nigerian Law Reform Commission Act.
