Prince Harry, Meghan Name Daughter After Princess Diana

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have welcomed their second child, as the little girl was named Lilibet Diana

This was revealed in a statement, where the Sussexes disclosed that they had called their daughter Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, named after both her grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was named after the Queen and Harry’s mother, the late Princess Diana

“It is with great joy that Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, welcome their daughter, Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, to the world,” the statement reads.

“Lili was born on Friday, June 4 at 11:40 a.m. in the trusted care of the doctors and staff at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, CA.”

Speaking to Oprah in an interview on CBS in March, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had disclosed that their second baby was going to be a baby girl, the couple excitedly told the chat show host: “It’s a girl.”

When asked how he was feeling about welcoming a little sister for Archie, he said: “Just grateful. To have any child, any one or any two, would have been amazing.

“But to have a boy and then a girl, I mean what more can you ask for? Now we’ve got our family, we got the four of us and our two dogs.”

Prince Harry had previously revealed that the couple only plan to have two kids at most, while speaking about climate change to Dr. Jane Goodall in British Vogue, he said: “It does make it different. I think, weirdly, because of the people that I’ve met and the places that I’ve been fortunate enough to go to, I’ve always had a connection and a love for nature.

“ I view it differently now, without question. But I’ve always wanted to try and ensure that, even before having a child and hoping to have childre”
