Protest Against Oshiomhole Enters Day 2 As APC Supporters Storm Party Secretariat Again

Calls for the removal of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, have intensified as a fresh group of protesters on Tuesday stormed the national secretariat of the party to demand his removal.

This came a day after a group under the aegis of ‘Concerned APC Youths’ picketed the APC national secretariat in Abuja to demand the party chairman’s resignation.

The new group led by one Yunusa Ahmed Yusuf on Tuesday accused Oshiomhole of failing to provide quality leadership for the ruling party.

The protesters carried placards with inscriptions such as “Oshiomhole is not a progressive”, “Bye bye Oshiomhole” and “Oshiomhole is a loser”.

Their demonstration is coming after the Supreme Court on Thursday sacked David Lyon of the APC as the governor-elect of Bayelsa state.

The apex court nullified Lyon’s election for presenting a running mate with fake certificates in the governorship election that was held on November 16, 2019.

The protesters called on President Muhammdu Buhari to intervene in order for the party not to completely collapse under Oshiomhole’s watch.
