Protesters Decorate Ekiti APC Secretariat With Charms

The entrance to the secretariat of the Ekiti State All Progressives Congress (APC) has been sealed off with charms on Monday.

This follows the violence that trailed the APC gubernatorial primaries that held over the weekend after one of the governorship aspirants, the Minister of Mines and Steel, Kayode Fayemi, allegedly comprised the voting process.

According to pictures currently making circulation on the internet, the party’s secretariat in Ado-Ekiti has been put under lock and key with charms placed at the entrance by angry protesters.

The protesters, according to reports, are calling for the dissolution of the Chief Olajide Awe-led Ekiti State APC executive council.

“The Ekiti APC executive has moved for a consensus candidate, which is against the constitution of our party. The executive has also openly displayed support for an aspirant. These actions are against the constitution and that is why we are passing a vote of no confidence on the Jide Awe-led executive. We want them to step aside and a caretaker committee to be inaugurated,” one Mr Adeoyo Aribasoye told reporters on behalf of the protesters.
