Protesters Storm National Assembly, Demand Return Of 36 Land Cruisers

Although security men barred the protesters from entering the premises of the national assembly, they took over the main entrance of the complex.

Speaking with newsmen, a coordinator of the protest, Retson Tedheke of Citizens United for Peace and Stability, said the group demanded that the senate “return the sports utility vehicles it bought for N35.1m each.

“We are demanding that the national assembly stop toying with the laws of the country for its own interest,” he said.

“We are asking that they stop playing politics with the budget, and scrap constituency projects because they are fraud.

It was learnt that the protesters vowed not to back down until their demands are met.
