Enugu Rangers coach, Imama Amapakabo, has been given a final ultimatum by the club management to win Friday’s CAF Confederation Cup first leg match against Zesco of Zambia or get sacked.

The Peoples Elephant, who won the Nigeria Premier League last year, are languishing at the bottom of the NPFL standings with 13 points from 14 matches.

Rangers management had in a meeting handed Amapakabo a three-match ultimatum turn Ranger’s disappointing season around, but the coach could only record a draw against Remo Stars at home, and suffered defeat to Gombe United and Enyimba.

A top official of the Enugu based club confirmed to Complete Sports that Amapakabo will definitely get fired if he fails to defeat Zesco at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium this weekend.

“It’s only the players that can redeem his image at the moment by putting everything behind them to beat Zesco,” the source stated.

“Going by the warning he got at the meeting, he stands little or no chance of remaining as coach of the team if we don’t win.”
