Reactions As ASUU Urges Undergraduates To Study Hard

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has advised all undergraduates to use the period of the lockdown to study hard before schools reopen.

However, there were reactions from concerned Nigerians including undergraduates after ASUU tweeted about this on Monday.

A Twitter user asked ASUU for an update on its indefinite strike action while another urged the union to consider the fact that she was an undergraduate in her final year.

Another asked what ASUU was doing to cushion the effect of the Coronavirus pandemic on students and the health sector; citing the role being played by the John Hopkins University in the United States.

But ASUU, as if it had anticipated the reactions, further said that it was concerned about the students and the state of the universities.

It advised students to comply with the public health advisory on covid-19, so as to ensure their safety.

Recall that ASUU had embarked on an indefinite strike action due to disagreements with the federal government on the Integrated Payroll and Personnel information system (IPPIS).

ASUU maintained that it was still holding on to its decision to embark on strike.
