Read Buhari’s ‘Heartfelt Condolences’ To Victims Of London Attack

Buhari in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, on Friday, said the incident “underscores the threat we all live under,” adding that, “terrorism has no borders and no season.”

President Buhari also appreciated the British government for her “logistical support” to Nigeria in the fight against Boko Haram.

According to the President, in spite of “isolated attacks against soft targets,” the British assistance helped in flushing “Boko Haram out of their hide-out base and severely degraded their capacity to mount a serious attack on Nigerian assets.”

No fewer than five persons were killed and 40 others injured after a man attacked locals near the British Parliament on Wednesday.

The attacker, identified as Khalid Masood, rammed a car into pedestrians on the capital’s busy Westminster Bridge.

He then fled on foot, stabbing police officers who were patrolling the grounds of the British parliament, before being shot dead.

The Islamic State militant group, ISIS, has since claimed responsibility for the attack, describing the attacker as “soldier of the caliphate”.
