According to reports by Spanish paper, Cadena SR, Ancelotti may take over from Zinadine Zidane who resign following claims that the club’s president Ancelotti Perez “lost faith in him.”

Perez had sacked Ancelotti in May 2015 after the manager failed to win any major trophies in the 2014-15 season.

“My talk will be very short, but I want to say that today the board has decided to relieve Carlo Ancelotti of duties as Real Madrid coach,” Perez said in May 2015.

During his first campaign at Madrid, Ancelotti led the club to win the famous 10th Champions League trophy with victory over rivals, Atletico Madrid in Lisbon in 2014.
