As Nigerians beseech the current administration to intensify its efforts to bring the country out of recession, President Muhammadu Buhari has said that oil and gas resources remain the most “practical keys” Nigeria can rely on right now.

Buhari made the pronouncement at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, on Thursday, during the launch of the Nigeria Oil and Gas Industry Roadmap tagged “The 7 Big Wins.”

“The golden era of high oil prices may not be here now, but oil and gas resources still remain the most immediate and practical keys out of our present economic crisis,” Buhari said.

“Oil and gas sector still remain critical enabler for the successful implementation of our budget as well as the source of funds for laying a strong foundation for a new and more diversified economy.

“We still need a virile and efficient oil and gas industry to take care of our foreign exchange requirements,” he stated.
