My Regime Created Thousands Of Jobs For Nigerians In 2-Yrs – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has said contrary to notions that his regime cost Nigerians millions of their jobs, his government’s economic agenda of moving the country away from “over-reliance on crude oil” has created thousands of jobs for the citizens.

Presidential spokesperson, Mallam Garba Shehu, quoted President Buhari as saying this while receiving former Emir, Sheikh Hamad Al-Thani, who led a delegation of Qatari businessmen to the State House in Abuja on Thursday.

Shehu quoted the president as telling the businessmen that his administration has turned the country into one of Africa’s most attractive investment destinations in the last two years

“My administration’s economic agenda has always been to move away from over-reliance on crude oil and food importation.

“Nigeria is a blessed country. We have fertile land. We have young and energetic population and we have a very strong legal and regulatory system that protects capital and investments, both local and foreign.

“As you are aware, Nigeria just exited its worst recession in more than two decades. We have more than doubled our foreign reserves.
