Rio Olympics: Okagbare Crashes Out Of 100m Final

The 27-old-Nigerian came 3rd in her semi-final heat with a time of 11.09seconds and as a result couldn’t make it to the finals as only athletes that ran under 11seconds made it to the final.

The women’s final race was won by Jamaica’s Elaine Thompson. She denied fellow country mate Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, who narrowly lost out of becoming the only woman to win the 100m in three consecutive Olympic Games. She won in Beijing at age 16 and won again in London 2012.

Others who competed in the final included Tori Bowie, Ta Lou, Dafne Schippers, Michelle-Lee Ahye and English Gardner.
