Rivers Rerun: APC Exists Only On The Pages Of Newspapers – Senator Nwogu

Ahead of the Saturday Rivers South-East Senatorial District re-run elections, candidate of the PDP, Senator Olaka Nwogu, has described the Thursday campaign rally organised by the APC as “nothing but a charade”.

The Senator Nwogu, in a press statement by his Campaign Organisation on Thursday, said that the campaign rally that held at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium clearly indicates that the All Progressives Congress had lost the race even before starting.

“The half empty 16,000-capacity stadium is not a shocker to Rivers people who knew all the while that the APC exists only on the pages of newspapers and as film tricks on the television,” Nwogu said.

“Even as it is common knowledge that the APC went to neighbouring states to hire crowd, the empty seats at the stadium show that you cannot fool the people all the time.

While urging the youths of the Rivers South East Senatorial District to ignore APC’s call for violence, Nwogu further charged them to peacefully go out on the day of the elections to vote for the PDP which has “genuine commitment to the welfare of Rivers people”.

“We are not surprised at the empty seats which are another evidence of a failed political party. Even the lens of the television camera could not conceal the deceit. This does not only show the wide rejection of the APC in all fronts, but the crowd they hired from neighboring states apparently disappointed them” the Senator said.
