Rivers State Commences Public Sanitation Exercise

This was made known in a statement released by Jerry Needam, the special adviser, media on behalf of the sole administrator.

Felix Obuah explained that for four months, the former governor Rotimi Amaechi’s administration failed to conduct the monthly sanitation exercise in the State, and this was largely responsible for the huge waste and filthy environment witnessed in some parts of Port Harcourt and environs.

He assured that tomorrow’s exercise will complement the enormous efforts and steps taken so far by the Agency under the present Administration to ensure a clean and healthy environment in the State.

He said, “As the first monthly sanitation exercise to be conducted by this administration, we are doing everything possible to ensure full compliance and a successful outing. This also informed our resolve to enforce all relevant laws regarding conduct and participation in the exercise.
