Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo has leveled Ali Daei’s international goal record with two goals netted against France in Group F.
Ronaldo, 36, now has 109 goals to his name for Portugal and has a chance to set a new record at the Euro 2020.
The Juventus FC forward has also overtaken Michel Platini’s 9 goals which was the most in Euro Championship history.
The five- time Ballon d’Or winner has netted 14 goals so far which is the highest in the history of the competition.
Ali Daei who was captain of the Iranian national team between 2000 and 2006 has kept the record for 26 years.
The Iranian captain scored his 109th goal on March 1, 2006 in his 149th game. The match was a friendly against Costa Rica which ended 3-2.
