Ronaldo To Serve Ban As Spanish FA Turn Down Appeal
Cristiano Ronaldo will serve a five-match ban after Real Madrid failed in a bid to overturn the red card he received in the 3-1 Spanish Super Cup first-leg win over Barcelona
The forward was confirmed out of Wednesday’s Spanish Super Cup second leg against Barcelona after the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) appeals committee confirmed that it turned down Real Madrid’s attempt to overturn his five-game ban.
The 32-year-old will also be absent when Madrid begin their defence of La Liga on Sunday at Deportivo la Coruna as well as home games against Valencia and Levante and a trip to Real Sociedad.
