Ruckus As Tinubu’s Wife Occupies Ekweremadu’s Seat

Senator Tinubu had occupied Ekweremadu’s seat in his absence and remained on the seat almost throughout the sitting.

However, when the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, called Tinubu to second the motion in respect of the $200 million loan sought by the Lagos State government, the chamber erupted into an uproar.

Senators of the PDP protested attempts by Tinubu to speak from Ekweremadu’s seat, stating that such action was against the rules of the Senate.

As Tinubu rose to speak, the protest from the PDP wing of the chamber was overwhelming, forcing her to make some explanations.

She told her PDP colleagues that she was on the seat because the microphone on her seat was faulty. The PDP senators, still insisted that she must return to her seat.

Tinubu bowed to the pressure of the PDP senators and left for her seat to second the motion.

However, she came back to the seat of Ekweremadu, after she had seconded the motion, and remained there for over an hour.
