Sagging Breasts Don’t Result From Exclusive Breastfeeding, Paediatrician Tells Nigerian Women

**Says Exclusive Breastfeeding Is “Economical”

Nigerian women have been urged to dismiss the “myth” that their breasts may become flattened or saggy as a result of exclusive breastfeeding.

At a forum in Abuja on Sunday, President of the National Association of Nigeria Paediatric Nurses, Mrs Olubunmi Aiyedun, besought Nigerian women to take seriously the exclusive breastfeeding of their babies.

Aiyedun said whether or not women breastfeed exclusively, breasts will fall at their appointed times or at old age.

The paediatrician said, “Exclusive breastfeeding is economical and is also ideal food for the baby as well as saves money for the family and the community.’’

Aiyedun also implored those she described as gatekeepers; traditional rulers, head of communities and religious leaders to encourage women to practice exclusive breastfeeding.
