Sallah: NCDC Advises Persons Above 60yrs Against Going To Mosque

The Nigeria Centre For Disease Control (NCDC) has advised Nigerians who are 60 years of age and above to avoid going to the mosque during the Sallah celebrations.

The NCDC in a tweet on Wednesday advised that Nigerians, irrespective of age, who are sick or have any underlying condition, should take responsibility while the Muslims celebrate in order to stay safe from contracting the coronavirus.

According to the centre, COVID -19 may cause severe complications in the elderly and people with underlying health conditions.

The number of cases in the country keeps increasing daily as the country currently has 41,804 confirmed infections.

However, the centre has always maintained that the virus spreads easily from person to person and has urged Nigerians to stay safe by wearing a face mask.

In this festive period, the NCDC also advised on observing physical distancing and washing of hands frequently.
