Samsung To Release World’s First Foldable Smartphone

Dubbed ‘Foldable Valley’, the device is expected to have all the answers: a touchscreen smartphone with a foldable display.

Samsung has previously said it will launch foldable devices in 2016 and trusted rumour blog SamMobile reported that anonymous sources claim the device is currently being tested in China.

The source said the current prototypes had 3GB RAM, a microSD slot and a non-removable battery. The amount of internal storage has not been mentioned yet.

Samsung is said to be testing the device in two different hardware options: one sporting a Snapdragon 620 processor, the other with a Snapdragon 820 processor. Samsung is said to be considering the latter for future flagship smartphones, including the Galaxy S7.

SamMobile, while noting the device was not the Galaxy S7, but something else, added, “We confirm that this report looks authentic we have received similar inputs from our trusted and dependable sources.”

If Samsung holds true to the release date, more information and official news will be expected in the coming months.
