Saraki On Tinubu: ‘I’ve Medicine Of The Godfather Terrorising Lagos’

Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, on Monday, promised to liberate inhabitants from the “godfather terrorising Lagos State” come the 2019 general elections.

Apparently referring to former Lagos state governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Saraki described himself as the only person who “has intention and charisma to deal with those disturbing” residents of the state.

The Senate President and 2019 presidential hopeful said this during his visit to the secretariat of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos yesterday.

“What you have been fighting for many years, you will have it during the coming election because you now have somebody that has intention and charisma to deal with those disturbing you,” said Saraki.

“I have a medicine of the man who regards himself as godfather terrorising Lagos State. We have their formula, come next year, PDP will take over Lagos,” he said.

The Senate President equally described himself as the best presidential candidate of the PDP that has what it takes to unseat President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019. He urged the people to not be deceived by other presidential aspirants promising to restructure the country, saying restructuring cannot be achieved by only the president.

“Many aspirants will tell you that they will restructure Nigeria, but don’t let them deceive you because restructuring is not something only a president can do because certain laws also need to change.

“So you need a president that has political sagacity to carry people along. But there are very few aspirants today that possess such charisma. Once I assume office, I will devolve more powers to the state.’’

Saraki added that, “You need a president that can speak private sector language. So, this is the time to elect the right president to lead the country.

“In Nigeria, we are at the crossroads and we need to save the soul of this country because we have not been so divided like we are currently across the country,” he said.

Responding, the acting Chairman of Lagos State PDP, Alhaji Wali Hassan, declared support for Saraki, saying “As you can all see, he had his primary and secondary school education in Lagos and his wife is a Lagosian, so we are going to support him.”
