Saraki’s Trial Must Continue, CCT Insists, Adjourns Trial To Nov 18, 19
The Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), on Wednesday, insisted that the trial of Senator Bukola Saraki must continue, thereby adjourning the case to November 18 and 19.
At the continued hearing of the corruption case against him today, Saraki’s counsel, Ahmed Mogaji urged the CCT to suspend further hearing on the matter pending the Supreme Court’s decision on the matter. His argument was however, opposed by the prosecution, Rotimi Jacobs.

Recall that Saraki, had few days ago, approached the Supreme Court, in a plea to halt the proceeding of the CCT.
The Tribunal having listened to submissions from both counsels, refused to adjourn the case, as requested by the defence counsel.
Reacting to the development, Mogaji and other Lawyers to the senate president reportedly walked out of the court, describing the CCT’s ruling as judicial rascality.
Saraki is standing trial on a 13 count charge of false asset declaration while he was governor of Kwara state.
Amongst other charges preferred against him, Saraki was also alleged to have operated foreign accounts while being the Governor of Kwara State between 2003 and 2011 and transferred the sum of $73, 223.28 from his GTB domiciliary account to an American Express account.
